This work concerned synthesis and characterization of an organic water-based coating based on poly (methyl methacrylate-co-butyl acrylate-co-acrylic acid) through seeded semi-batch emulsion polymerization. Silica nanoparticles were added in situ under controlled pH and temperature conditions at different mass concentrations, and consequent influences on various properties of obtained films were explored.
