Doping the fuel with fuel-borne catalysts is an economical and inventive option for reducing the emissions from conventional fuel. The present investigation explores the effect of Au/CeO2 doping in diesel fuel on combustion and emission characteristics of the compression ignition (CI) engine. Experiments were performed on a direct injection four-stroke water-cooled diesel engine (Kirloskar TV1) at varying engine loads. (364 characters)
